March 12 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am
£45 – £90➡️Introduction
There are more and more uses for data being developed all of the time, particularly by Primary Care Networks / Integrated Care Systems and
Local Health Boards (Wales), as well as developments in practice. A Data Protection Impact Assessment is a legal requirement for new uses or
significant changes to the use of personal data. This webinar will equip practices with the understanding of how to conduct a DPIA or assess a DPIA presented to them when an external project requests their data.
Agenda/topics covered
• What are DPIAs and why are they a legal requirement?
• What activities would require a practice to complete a DPIA?
• What does a good DPIA look like? – Assessing DPIAs from cross organisational projects
• Key concepts:
Who controls data? Where does liability lie?
Linking DPIAs to wider project management
Assessing information risks in DPIAs
Learning Objectives
• Ensure the practice is aware of when it is required to have a DPIA for using personal data
• Ensure any DPIAs produced and / or shared are of a good standard
• Reasoned assessment of information risk and suitable control measures
This workshop is suitable for: practice managers, IT leads, Data Protection Officers and GPs.
