Learning Outcomes
• To provide non-medical prescribers with an update in regards to national and
local prescribing guidelines and relevant medicines optimisation topics and issues
• Describe the Legal and Professional requirements of Non-Medical prescribing
• Outline the importance of accountability
• Provide an update on current prescribing issues in relation to prescribing safely,
understanding drug interactions and side effects, as well as report adverse drug
reactions.
• Provide an update in prescribing for children, elderly patients and in pregnancy
• Provide an update about antibiotic resistance, when to prescribe and the
challenges that surround antibiotic prescribing
• Identify the importance of Continued Professional Development in relation to
prescribing and the importance of Liability and Insurance
