NHS England is offering a free, flexible online course designed to support colleagues working to embed compassionate and inclusive cultures across health and social care. The course introduces the NHS Culture and Leadership Programme (CLP), providing practical tools and resources to help participants on their culture transformation journey.

This course is aimed at anyone interested in developing inclusive and collaborative leadership approaches, as well as programme leads, change team members and stakeholders involved in CLP and colleagues across health and social care who want to improve culture in their team, organisation or system. The Nurturing Compassionate and Inclusive NHS Cultures online course is run four times a year. Each course runs for three months, and participants must complete it within this timeframe.

Course dates and registration

We’ll be running the course quarterly in the first instance, and you will need to complete the course by the last day of the month the course is running.

To join the course, please complete the registration form for the quarter you wish to start:

• October 2025 – register for the October 2025 course (course runs from 1 October to 31 December 2025)
• January 2026 – register for the January 2026 course (course runs from 1 January to 31 March 2026)

Once you have submitted your registration form, you will be enrolled onto your chosen cohort. Joining instructions will be sent by email approximately one week before the course begins.

You will then have access to a welcome section, including guidance on how to navigate the platform, followed by interactive modules to help you understand and apply the Culture and Leadership Programme (CLP) tools. You can work through the course at your own pace-pausing and returning whenever it suits you.
