SUMMARY:Putting the T in Competency: Supporting Your Trans+ Patients
DESCRIPTION:We’d like to invite you to a free lunch-and-learn webinar Putting the T in Competency: Supporting Trans+ Patients\, run by Waiting Well\, a new service from Gendered Intelligence and LGBT Foundation. \nHere at Waiting Well\, we know that a large percentage of Trans+ people don’t feel like their needs are being met in healthcare settings (1)(2). We also know that you\, as a healthcare professional\, want to provide high-quality\, patient-centred care to all of your patients and we’re here to offer you a helping hand. This DHSC-funded training is designed to make you feel confident and competent in supporting your Trans+ patients\, giving you some take-away tips to better your practice both individually and as a team. \nBy the end of the hour\, you’ll have learnt key terminology\, grown your understanding of health barriers and inequalities\, and joined us on the patient journey as we explore concrete steps you can take to provide the most inclusive and supportive care to your patients. \n This webinar is currently open to healthcare professionals (including both clinical and administrative staff) practising in the South West of England. \nSign up for one of our monthly sessions here and commit to putting the T in competency. \nMore about Waiting Well \nWaiting Well was created to support trans and non-binary people who are on the national waiting list for gender identity healthcare. Long waits can be difficult and isolating; Waiting Well aims to make the waiting experience feel more manageable through a mix of welcoming\, supportive\, and affirming groups\, workshops\, and online resources.
