Trauma Informed Approach training course

This course is delivered in person at: Dowty Sports & Social Club, Down Hatherley Lane, Gloucester, GL2 9QH. (Plenty of free parking available on site).

Face-to-face training run by The Nelson Trust who are an award-winning charity specialising in delivering holistic, trauma informed services to people who experience multiple and complex challenges.

What is Trauma Informed Approach?

  • It’s an open-minded and compassionate approach that all people deserve
  • Anyone can have a history that impacts their ability to communicate and get their needs met

The training will provide a clear understanding of working in a Trauma Informed way & provide vital understanding to vulnerable people who may have experienced trauma.

Course Content

  • Understanding the dynamics of trauma and exploration of triggers
  • Understanding of trauma and its impact, and how to take this into account when meeting behaviours that challenge
  • How to communicate in a trauma informed way, fostering the five core principles of Trauma Informed approaches: Safety, Choice, Trustworthiness, Collaboration & Empowerment
