Training Categories:Post Covid Syndrome (Long Covid) G-Care Pathway
A new Gloucestershire Post Covid Syndrome (Long Covid) clinical pathway is now available on G-care here . It supports clinicians to diagnose Long Covid (including ruling out other possible causes of symptoms) and support patients to manage their condition in primary care. It also gives information as to when and how to refer to the Gloucestershire Post Covid Syndrome Service (with link to contact details and referral form).
In addition, the pathway contains links to a number of self-management materials for patients including a ‘Covid Recovery’ translated into several languages and ‘What is Covid?’ easy read document. Other resources cover topics such as:
- Fatigue management (with activity planner)
- Getting back to work
- Brain fog
- Breathlessness

Enhanced Service for Long Covid – NHSE have offered a Primary Care Enhanced Service for Long Covid with associated funding ( link to spec here). The ES specification requires GP practices to; plan their workforce set up, training needs and infrastructure in order to support patients with this new condition and begins on 1st July.
