World Pharmacists Day – 25 September – Post 1
When you think health, think pharmacist.
World Pharmacists Day (25 September 2025) is about recognising the skill, care, and impact pharmacists including Clinical Pharmacists in General Practice, have in keeping medicines safe, health services running, and patients supported.
Under the theme “Think Health, Think Pharmacist”, we celebrate the central role pharmacists play in ensuring safe, effective healthcare for everyone.
Within Gloucestershire, our pharmacists are essential not just for dispensing, but for patient safety, advising on interactions, supporting long-term conditions, optimising medicines budgets, and being accessible first points of contact. Let’s use this day to recognise their work and thank them for everything they do.
Key points for staff to share:
• Pharmacists safeguard medicine use—without their checks, mistakes are more likely.
• A pharmacist’s role includes teaching and advising colleagues on safety, not just as medicine experts.
• Recognise that good pharmacy support can prevent problems (side effects, interactions, misuse) and improve outcomes.
• Pharmacists are part of our system’s safety net—let’s use their knowledge well.
