Mindset Matters

Mindset Matters gives staff and line managers a practical, down‑to-earth way to understand how we choose to show up on busy, pressured days. We explore mindset, habits and the “autopilot” responses that creep in when demand is high. Using the Pause–Choose–Reflect model, we help people recognise their triggers, steady themselves, and actively choose a mindset that supports them, their colleagues and patients. This workshop turns mindset from something that “happens to us” into a skill we can influence and practise every day.

By the end of the workshop participants will:

  • Understand how mindset affects our perceptions and judgement and how it influences patient interactions.
  • Recognise how autopilot and habits shape our reactions
  • Learn practical techniques to pause, recognise triggers and choose more effective responses, especially in challenging situations.
  • Leave with a personal action plan identifying practical changes they will apply immediately in their role.

Benefits:

  • Builds simple habits that support wellbeing and sustained performance.
  • Helps staff stay calmer and more resilient on busy, pressured days.
  • Reduces reactive behaviour and emotional burnout across the practice.
