To support Primary Care, Gloucestershire Primary Care Training Hub will be running a campaign to highlight the exciting potential of apprenticeships.
Including –
- How apprentices can be used to support your workforce, by developing existing staff and recruiting new people?
- What are the key considerations around apprenticeships?
- How to successfully embed apprentices within your workforce?

Primary Care Apprenticeships Awards 2024
Are you an apprentice in Primary Care, or a practice that currently has an apprentice? Would you like to highlight your apprentices’ achievement and successes? If so please take a few moments to nominate them for the Gloucestershire Primary Care Training Hub 2024 Apprenticeship Awards.
Categories for Nomination are –
- Non Clinical Apprentice of the Year
- Clinical Apprentice of the Year
Nominations should be made via the Online Form. Entries will be reviewed by a panel of Judges and training grants awarded for the winner in each category. Entries are open until 28th February, with winners announced shortly thereafter.

Tuesday 6th February 2024 – Business Case Administration
Emma Rowles – Business Operations Manager for Hadwen Health tells us more about her practice’s experience of employing an apprentice. Emma’s passion and enthusiasm for apprenticeships is evident and she recently spoke about her experience on our Apprenticeships Webinar, the recording can be found here. Hadwen Health have had great success with Apprenticeships and are using them for their workforce development and succession planning.

Thursday 8th February 2024 – Clinical Apprenticeships
Clinical Apprenticeships are already adding immense value to the Primary Care workforce across Gloucestershire, in a variety of areas including Trainee Nursing Associates (TNA’s) and Pharmacy Technicians. Below we hear from those in the know; current apprentices, working in Primary Care and learning whilst they are earning.

As national Apprenticeships Week draws to a close, Gloucestershire Primary Care Training Hub are keen to support practices and individuals who may be interested in Apprenticeships; either to upskill existing staff or recruit new people to their workforce. Gloucestershire Primary Care Training Hub 2024 Apprenticeship Awards
If you already have an apprentice in Primary Care and want to nominate them for the 2024 Apprenticeship Awards, please do take a few moments to complete our nomination form. The winners in each category will be offered the opportunity to receive a training grant, (via their practice) to support their continued development. Nominations close 28th February

Apprenticeships Ambassadors – coming soon
