• Identify the various classes of fire and select the correct fire extinguisher type and corresponding colour code for each situation
• Act quickly and correctly in the event of a fire, following your company’s emergency procedures and contacting the fire brigade as required
• Spot potential fire hazards in your workplace, report them, and take action to reduce associated risks
• Confidently handle fire extinguishers, understanding both their capabilities and their limitations, with hands-on practice included
• Lead and support the evacuation process, making sure that all building occupants are safely accounted for at assembly points
• Check and maintain fire safety equipment, documenting inspections according to legal and organisational standards
• Encourage a culture of fire safety awareness, including vigilance against arson, throughout your team or department
