Women’s Health Wednesdays – GPN Fundamentals webinars
The Gloucestershire Primary Care Training Hub are pleased to announce a series of women’s health training webinars.
Most of the webinars are aimed at nurses, however other clinicians are welcome to attend if the session if of interest to them. We also have a webinar for staff assisting coil fits that might be suitable for HCAs.
The sessions are being led by Dr Laura Patterson who is an experienced local GP with an interest in women’s health and a College Registered Trainer for the College of Sexual and Reproductive Health.
Ring Pessary Training:
Gloucestershire Primary Care Training Hub has worked with the GHNHSFT Urogynaecology Team and Gloucestershire’s Women’s Health Champions to create a training package for clinicians working in General Practice to upskill in ring pessary fitting for anterior wall prolapse (cystocele). The series of videos compile the online theory course that took place in November 2025, and demonstrations recorded in February 2026. Please watch all of the video modules below:

Ring Pessary Model Training Practice Session – Thursday 10th September:
Following the popularity of the Training Hub’s Ring Pessary Theory course in November, and the Ring Pessary Model Training Practice Sessions in February and June, we have created another opportunity for clinicians to attend a drop-in session to practice ring pessary fits and sizing on pelvic models. The session is being hosted by an experienced GP, so you will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain 1:1 feedback.
Clinicians who have watched the training modules from the theory course and want the opportunity to practice on a model, or are already undertaking ring pessary fits and would like to further their skills, are invited to attend. The online ring pessary training modules and clinical skills logbook can be found above.
The free drop-in session will run from 1:30 – 5pm on Thursday 10th September in Room 1 at the Sandford Education Centre, Keynsham Road, Cheltenham, GL53 7PX.

Menopause and HRT Training:
In early 2026, the Gloucestershire Primary Care Training Hub hosted a series of ‘Lunch and Learn’ sessions on Menopause and HRT. The GHNHSFT Urogynaecology Team and Gloucestershire’s Women’s Health Champions presented the sessions, which covered:
Session 1: Diagnosing menopause and the risks and benefits of HRT
Session 2: Lifestyle measures and non-hormonal treatments for menopause
Session 3: Practical HRT prescribing
Session 4: Reviewing, adjusting and tailoring HRT treatment
Session 5: Unscheduled bleeding on HRT
Session 6: Genitourinary symptoms of menopause, sexual function and testosterone
