The Gloucestershire Primary Care Training Hub welcomes any member of staff from across health and care in Gloucestershire to attend this introductory webinar to lifestyle medicine on 4th September 1-2pm, with the potential for an ongoing community of practice.
Lifestyle medicine compliments traditional medicine by empowering staff to holistically support behaviour change, enhancing the prevention and management of all long term conditions. This is achieved through contemporary evidence-based understanding of the 6 pillars of lifestyle (nutrition, exercise, stress management, sleep, social connection, avoidance of risky substances) and coaching techniques to support patients to commit to behavioural changes.
We are pleased to have a national speaker, Dr Ayan Panja, practising NHS GP and co-founder of Practice Unbound, to give us an overview of Lifestyle Medicine. We will be joined by Dr Helen Makins to talk about her experiences within secondary care and pain management, along with case study examples from colleagues in local practices and PCNs. This will be an interactive and inspiring session with opportunities for questions.
