Near Peer Fellowship – IMG Support opportunity

We are pleased to inform you of a local opportunity to apply for a Near Peer Fellowship – IMG Support.

The scheme is in its 3rd year of delivery and has been designed to provide support and mentorship to International Medical graduates (IMG) on GP training programmes. The scheme requires applicants to have recent experience of having completed GP training and to be within approximately two years of CCT.

What is the offer?

Inclusive of back-fill, the posts will see the successful applicant working 1 session a week to help deliver the GP School Differential Attainment Strategy; aiming to support international resident doctors throughout their training, aiding their transition to a new region/country and health system, improving exam success, and thereby reducing the number of trainees requiring additional training time. Alongside this, the Fellowship will provide valuable opportunities to develop educational delivery skills and become involved in the local training scheme; by the end of the fellowship, successful applicants will have the opportunity to complete a clinical supervisors course.

The role is 1 session per week, to be worked mainly Wednesdays.

What funding is available?

Organisations will be provided with a standard salary contribution back fill rate for the fellows in order to release them for 1 session a week for the duration of the fellowship.

The fellowship also includes the opportunity to undertake a clinical supervisors course within the fellowship period.
