The Annual Demand Scoping for Advanced Practice trainee funding from NHSE WTE is open from Tuesday 4th February and closes on Thursday 27th March 2025. Expressions of Interest (EOI) for funding inform Autumn 2025 Health Education Institute intakes. EOI may only be submitted by the employer via named organisation lead (Training Hub for Primary Care) by the deadline.

NHS England have made it clear that Advanced Practice development is a whole training pathway developed by the employer and the Centre for Advancing Practice criteria must be met , including evidence of the following commitments:
- a defined Advanced Practice role aligned to HEE Multi-professional AP Framework 2017 which is part of a workforce plan
- a fully funded (named in post) trainee AP role (Band 7) with job planned time for MSc ACP (accredited courses) and work-based competence & capability development
- a fully funded AP role (Band 8a) at completion with a matched Job Plan working across 4 pillars
- a commitment from a suitable coordinating educational supervisor and associate supervisors throughout the training period meeting NHSE minimum standards
- a commitment from the trainee
